Required a BIG leap up in hardware to run well on PC (I upgraded to a dual-core system for the first time thanks to it, and got one of the best GPUs on the market at the time). Midway desperately pushed it out about 6-9 months before it was ready because they were tanking hard, as confirmed by the devs.
